Real-Time Compositing
Virtual Production Support
Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) wanted to elevate its match-day presentation with an immersive broadcast experience that celebrated the club's identity. The objective was to create a signature visual moment that resonated with fans while seamlessly integrating into the live stadium broadcast. Since the tiger is at the heart of JDT's brand, the experience needed to reflect the club's spirit without feeling disconnected from the live environment
FURY delivered a real-time augmented reality sequence featuring a fully animated AR tiger synchronized with dynamic laser effects. Using precise camera tracking, masking, and real-time rendering, the virtual elements blended naturally into the stadium, creating a cinematic introduction that felt like part of the live event.
The result was a memorable broadcast experience that strengthened JDT's visual identity, amplified fan engagement, and demonstrated how augmented reality can transform live sports storytelling

The Challenge
Creating believable augmented reality inside a live stadium presents a unique set of technical and creative challenges.
Unlike controlled studio environments, stadium productions involve large spaces, constantly changing lighting conditions, long camera movements, and thousands of spectators. Every virtual element must remain perfectly aligned with the physical environment from every broadcast angle.
For JDT, the objective wasn't simply to display an AR graphic it was to create an experience that felt like a natural extension of the stadium atmosphere while maintaining broadcast reliability throughout the live event.
Our Solution
FURY implemented a fully synchronized augmented reality workflow centered around JDT's iconic tiger.
The AR character was carefully optimized for real-time rendering while maintaining a cinematic level of visual quality. Every movement, animation, and interaction was planned to complement the rhythm of the stadium presentation.
To further enhance the spectacle, synchronized laser effects were integrated into the sequence, allowing physical lighting and virtual elements to work together as one cohesive experience.
Precise camera calibration ensured that the tiger remained perfectly positioned regardless of camera movement, creating the illusion that it genuinely existed inside the venue
Design & Technology
Delivering a convincing augmented reality experience required a combination of creative and technical precision.
FURY's workflow focused on three key areas:
Real-time AR rendering optimized for live broadcast
Accurate camera tracking and calibration
Advanced masking techniques for seamless presenter and stadium integration
Every asset was optimized to maintain smooth performance throughout the production without sacrificing visual fidelity. The workflow allowed producers to integrate AR graphics directly into the live broadcast pipeline while maintaining the flexibility required for dynamic sports coverage.
The synchronized laser system added another layer of immersion by connecting physical lighting cues with digital animation, creating a unified visual experience for both in-person audiences and television viewers.
Execution
Before the event, extensive calibration and testing ensured accurate camera alignment throughout the stadium. Every animation sequence was synchronized with broadcast timing, lighting cues, and presentation elements.
During the live event, the AR system operated in real time, allowing the virtual tiger and accompanying visual effects to respond seamlessly within the broadcast environment without disrupting production workflows.
This combination of creative storytelling and technical execution enabled a polished presentation that felt cinematic while remaining production-ready.
Results
Successful demonstration of how augmented reality can elevate live sports broadcasting beyond traditional presentation techniques.
The immersive AR sequence strengthened JDT's brand identity, enhanced fan engagement, and delivered a memorable opening experience that resonated across both the stadium and live
broadcast.
More importantly, the project showcased how real-time graphics can be integrated into largescale sporting events without compromising broadcast efficiency or reliability.
