Virtual Parliament Set Design: Future-Ready Environments for News & Election Broadcasts

The Concept
The goal was to design a detailed, broadcast-ready replica of Parliament, which could serve as a versatile virtual set for different production needs:
- Election coverage and live analysis
- Breaking news segments
- Panel discussions and debates
- Explainers and educational programming
By building this as a reusable asset, production teams can adapt the environment for multiple formats, reducing costs while maintaining a high visual standard.
Tools & Technology
This Parliament environment was developed using Unreal Engine, delivering real-time rendering, photorealistic visuals, and broadcast flexibility. One of the core strengths of Unreal is its ability to integrate seamlessly with all major virtual production OEMs in the industry, including Brainstorm, Vizrt, Ross Video, Zero Density, Pixotope, and Aximmetry.
This compatibility ensures that our virtual sets can plug directly into any production workflow, whether for news, elections, or live events. By designing with this level of adaptability, we future-proof our environments and make them usable across diverse broadcast ecosystems.
Key Features
- Architectural accuracy – A detailed design faithful to the real Parliament structure.
- Broadcast flexibility – Adaptable for different formats: elections, debates, or live news.
- Augmented reality integration – Real-time graphics overlays for election data, results, or infographics.
- Scalable environment – Customizable camera angles, lighting moods, and branding elements.
Why It Matters for News & Elections
Elections are among the most watched events on television, demanding engaging, reliable, and visually impressive coverage. Traditional sets often limit storytelling, but virtual Parliament sets open up new opportunities:
- Dynamic data visualization with real-time results.
- Seamless integration of anchors, experts, and AR graphics.
- Reusability for future events, reducing long-term costs.
- The sense that the presenter is reporting live from inside Parliament itself, creating an authentic and authoritative viewing experience.
This approach ensures that broadcasters stay ahead in delivering immersive, information-rich election coverage that feels both impactful and believable to audiences.
