How FURY designed an immersive virtual broadcast environment that brought the atmosphere of the Olympic Games to life through architectural visualisation and virtual production.

A Broadcast Studio Inspired by the Olympic Spirit

For CTV's Olympic coverage, the objective was to create a virtual environment that captured the excitement of the Games while giving presenters a visually engaging space for live broadcasts. Rather than relying on conventional studio backdrops, the production required an environment that felt immersive, elegant, and instantly recognisable.

FURY designed a virtual broadcast space that combined iconic architectural elements with modern presentation areas, creating a studio that connected viewers to the atmosphere of the host city throughout the tournament.

Building a Dynamic Virtual Environment

The environment was designed around multiple presentation zones, allowing the broadcast to transition naturally between live discussions, analysis segments, and event updates. Wide Parisian streets, detailed architectural facades, and carefully positioned French flags established a strong visual identity while maintaining a clean and professional broadcast layout.

One of the environment's defining features was the integration of the Eiffel Tower as a central visual landmark. Large digital billboards displaying Olympic branding, custom stage graphics, and dedicated presenter areas added depth and variety to the production without distracting from the coverage itself.

Designed for Broadcast Flexibility

Every area of the virtual studio was planned with broadcast workflows in mind. The environment supported wide cinematic establishing shots, presenter close-ups, and analysis segments while maintaining visual continuity across the programme.

Lighting played an important role in shaping the atmosphere. As the broadcast progressed, the environment transitioned naturally from bright daytime scenes to warm evening lighting, giving the virtual studio a more dynamic and realistic feel. This subtle shift added depth to the presentation while showcasing the flexibility of real-time virtual production.

Bringing the Olympic Experience to Viewers

By combining architectural visualisation with broadcast-focused design, FURY created an environment that celebrated the Olympic Games without overwhelming the presentation. From iconic landmarks and animated city streets to branded billboards and flexible presentation stages, every element was designed to enhance storytelling and support live production.

The project demonstrates how virtual production can transform sports broadcasting by creating immersive environments that are visually distinctive, production-ready, and adaptable for every moment of the event.
