Hangar: Building a PUBG Miramar-Inspired Esports Virtual Set

How FURY designed Hangar, an industrial, Miramar-inspired virtual esports set that combines large-scale architecture, branded elements, cinematic lighting, and real-time virtual production for professional tournament broadcasts.
Introduction
Esports broadcasts compete for attention in a very crowded space. The stage has to look like the game, feel like a live event and still meet the technical demands of professional television. Hangar was our answer to that brief.
Hangar is a PUBG Miramar-inspired esports virtual set, designed and built by FURY as a real-time virtual production environment. It brings the rugged, sun-baked atmosphere of Miramar into a broadcast studio, with the structure, lighting and branding a professional tournament needs.
The Challenge: A Stage with Real Character
The goal was to develop a unique esports stage that captured the rugged atmosphere of PUBG’s Miramar while still supporting professional broadcast requirements.
That is a harder balance than it sounds. A set that only looks like the game can fall apart on camera. A set that only serves the broadcast can feel generic and forgettable. Hangar had to do both: carry the identity of the game world and work as a dependable broadcast environment.
The Solution: An Industrial Hangar Environment
FURY created an industrial, hangar-inspired virtual environment built around three ideas:
Large-scale architecture. Bold structural forms give the set real presence and a sense of scale, with a curved, layered design that frames the action on stage.
Branded elements. Tournament branding is built into the environment, in the screens, the stage and the architecture, instead of being added on top.
Cinematic lighting influenced by Miramar. Warm, glowing light details and dramatic contrast bring the mood of the map into the studio and give the set its distinctive look.
At the centre is a circular broadcast stage framed by large display screens, with vehicle elements that nod to the game itself. Together, these details make Hangar immediately recognisable to PUBG fans while staying clear and readable for a live audience.
The Result: A Bold Visual Identity for Competitive Play
The result is a distinctive broadcast set that delivered a bold visual identity while enhancing the competitive atmosphere of the tournament. Viewers get a stage that feels like part of the game’s world, and production teams get an environment that is ready for live use.

Why Virtual Sets Work for Esports
Esports audiences know their games well and expect visuals to match. A virtual set offers real advantages:
Creative freedom. Environments can follow a game’s world, which physical builds rarely can.
Flexibility. Looks and branding can be adapted for different tournaments and formats.
Broadcast-ready performance. Real-time workflows and optimization support smooth live delivery.
A stronger identity. A custom stage helps a tournament stand out from every other stream.
Planning an Esports Broadcast?
Hangar shows what’s possible when game-world design meets professional broadcast technology. If you’re planning a tournament, league or branded esports event and want a virtual set with its own identity, FURY can help from concept to on-air integration.
